I have grown to love this song ever since I was a little girl and my Grandma played it while she was going to bed and I always think of it as our song. Eddy Arnold sang the version I always listened to with my Grandma.
Then I fell into deeper love with it when I heard it in the movie My Girl 2 when Veda, Anna Chlumsky's character, finds old film footage of her mother singing the song, which also gives Veda a connection with her mom and then she sings it to her new born baby brother.
